Carbide-Tipped Circular Saw Blades

Carbide-tipped circular saw blades have tungsten carbide teeth brazed onto a steel blade body. The carbide tips provide extended cutting life and maintain sharpness longer than high-speed steel blades.

Grind Patterns

Carbide teeth are ground in various patterns for different applications. ATB (Alternate Top Bevel) is common for crosscutting wood. FTG (Flat Top Grind) is used for ripping. TCG (Triple Chip Grind) handles abrasive materials. Hi-ATB provides extra-fine finishes.

Maintenance

Carbide-tipped blades can be resharpened by professional sharpening services. The number of possible sharpenings depends on the original carbide tip size and the amount of material removed during each sharpening.

Material Compatibility

Carbide-tipped blades cut wood, plywood, particleboard, MDF, and some plastics. Specialized carbide grades are available for cutting non-ferrous metals, fiber cement, and other materials.
